Went with my folks to see Jim perform in Concord tonight. The boys shared one song with him. The theatre was packed! Lots of kind (older) people. Which I’m guessing they buy their tickets annually and come to these things all the time. They didn’t allow photography or video I’m guessing? No one brought it out. Earl Scruggs died today. Let me Just go hug my banjo and cry myself to sleep. That man was amazing. Papaw and I have shared plenty of chats about flatt & Scruggs and one of the many influences of music that brought he and I closer together.
Sigh, thanks Scruggs. For everything. Rest in peace, man.
